New hedges and grazing should ensure nature on wet meadows
Thisted Municipality has, with a EU funded grant, established a new fence on the meadows in Sønderhå. The grazing will ensure the special plant life such as purple marshlocks, common butterwort, water avens, cottongrass etc.
In continuation of the LIFE project, the Municipality of Thisted has applied for and received a grant of DKK 1.2 million in EU support for clearing and fencing privately owned land, on behalf of a large number of private landowners. The money ensures the grazing of a total of 156 hectares of vulnerable nature in Thisted Municipality.
